lifestyle progression of a new covenant believer

Key Scripture:  “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” - Colossians 3:17

Purpose: Our lifestyle and the culture we create around us are evidence of the values we hold. Values and beliefs drive our behavior and our lifestyle. So what should we see in the lifestyle and the progression of it from a new covenant believer? When you understand and live out the new covenant economy as your reality then you are more likely to live in a place of being connected to Jesus. When your soul staying in the connection with Jesus becomes more consistent then your identity becomes more grounded in Christ. When that happens you put God on display and not yourself and you begin to disciple others.

Phase of Discipling Best to Introduce: D1

Discipling Tips: (Coming Soon)

Tool Specifics: (More to Come)

1.We live under God's New Covenant Economy

  • Knowing God is Christlike, we wholeheartedly reject transactional living and embrace the relationship Christ has freely given us by grace.

  • For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. - Romans 6:14.

2. We live connected to Jesus

  • We abide in loving union with Christ through His indwelling life.

  • Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. - John 15:4-5

3. We get our identity in Christ

  • We believe the truest thing about us is what God says about us.

  • Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. - 2 Corinthians 5:17

4. We put God on display

  • We purpose to know Jesus and make Him known because effective ministry is born out of intimacy.

  • Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. - Matthew 5:16

5. We make disciples

  • We partner with Christ in relational, Jesus-style disciple making.

  • And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. - Matthew 28:18-20
