The New Covenant Filter

As a born again believer you have entered into the New Covenant with the Father via Jesus Christ. This is contrary to how the world and your flesh operate. Believing the truths of this covenant and operating through these filters is vital for you to walk in the inheritance given to you in Christ.

The 5 Terms of the New Covenant found in Hebrews 8:6-13.

  1. I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts

  2. I will be their God, and they shall be My people

  3. None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them

  4. I will be merciful to their unrighteousness

  5. Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more

To learn more about the New Covenant offered to you read Hebrews chapters 8-10.

Filter #1: The Finished Work of Christ

It is the “pathway” that made the New Covenant possible.

  • Hebrews 10:14 - For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

  • Romans chapters 5-8

Filter #2: The Indwelling Life of Christ

It is the “power” to live the New Covenant out.

  • Colossians 1:27 - To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

  • Galatians 2:20 - I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Filter #3: Identity in Christ

It is the “position” we operate from.

  • Colossians 3:3 - For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

  • 1 Corinthians 1:30 - But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.

Filter #4: The New Economy

It is the “practical” of living the New Covenant out.

  • Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God not of works, lest anyone should boast.

  • 2 Corinthians 3:5-6 - Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
